When The Dust Settles, November 07, 2006

Well, late on this Election Night 2006, it seems that a very loud and clear message has been sent. "Throw the Bums Out!" Yes indeed, the Democrats have finally acheived pretty much what they wanted. They now have control of the House and at this late hour the Senate is still up for grabs. In all probability, Nancy Pelosi will be the next Speaker of the House. She will have to come closer to the middle though because many of the incoming Democrats are no where near as liberal as the leadership is. In plain english, many of the newly elected Democrats appear to be more moderate when it comes to things like the Second Amendment, Flag Burning, and some abortion issues just to name a few. In some instances, you might see some of these moderate Democrats joining the Republicans on some of these issues.

One thing has not changed though......When the dust settles this country still has three major problems that have to to be addressed in a serious and honest fashion.

1. Immigration---There is not a single example of a country, society, or civilization in the history of planet earth that has survived without controlled immigration and borders. It's no different this time either. If you can find an example of one, email me and prove me wrong. But I don't think anyone can.

2. The War in Iraq---This is a touchy one for people like me. I was there the first time and felt that it was handled horribly in the end. We gave a people their country back but we also let a lot of people down back then. This is our chance to make it right and it's not too late to accomplish that. Our nation has the best military on the planet that is more than capable of any task given. We have done a lot of good things for the people of Iraq, but it has been clear for some time that some changes need to be made both in big picture strategy and leadership at the Defense Department. It's also clear that "cut and run" or "immediate redeployment" is not nor will it ever be an acceptable answer. All that will accomplish is to make our military and our nation look weak and open us up for even more problems down the road. Now it's time for the Democrats stand up, stop bashing the President, and deal with this war in a serious bi-partisan manner to come up with an acceptable plan that acomplishs our goals while giving our troops the tools and the latitude they need to do the job correctly.

3. And finally, the War on Terror---It is time that liberals across the country take this issue seriously. We are facing an enemy that is fighting by a completely different set of rules than we are. This can only end badly unless the bickering over the handling of terrorists and the execution of this war on terror ends and ends now. The enemy has been very clear and deadly serious in it's intent where western society is concerned. History has proved that they are more than capable of carrying out that intent. That is not going to change because the Democrats won big tonight.

So America has made it's voice heard and now it's time to get down to business. The solutions to this nation's problems are not out of reach, but it's going to take everyone working together to get there. And it will be up to us to hold our new House and Senate accountable for making that happen.

Justice Really Is Blind!!! October 22, 2006

BUT NOT IN THE WAY WE LIKE TO SAY SOMETIMES. This time around, two American Border Patrol Agents were sentenced (this past Thursday) to 11 and 12 years in federal prison......for shooting and illegal alien drug smuggler/dealer in the butt as he tried to flee agents attempting to arrest him.

The U-S Attorney in West Texas originally sought life in prison for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean based on the following charges: assault with serious bodily injury; assault with a deadly weapon; discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence; and civil rights violations. They also were convicted of four counts and two counts, respectively, of obstruction of justice for not reporting that their weapons had been fired. The agents were acquitted of the most serious charge: assault with intent to commit murder.

This drug dealer, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila was given immunity by the U-S Department of Justice and Homeland Security and free medical care at a U-S Army facility in return for his testimony. Shortly after the trial, this thug from Mexico was caught once again entering the country illegally with a large amount of drugs for resale in his posession. During the trial, there were no witnesses against the agents other than Aldrete-Davila himself. There are some other astounding aspects to this case that are simply put.....unbelievable. This one story is the best example I can find that shows how insane the handling of this nations immigration policy is. Politicians would rather have open borders and put all Americans at risk than admit that the globalist stances of the current adminstration and the idea of a North American Union (just like the European Union) is a horrible idea. I have another blog on this coming soon!

I support President Bush in almost everything he's done so far. One thing I will never support is his globalist views and his immigration policy. That policy and his relationship with the Mexican government is directly responsible for the conviction of these two border patrol agents charged with protecting this nations border.

These two agents came to America as immigrants and legal ones at that. They could have done anything with their lives, but they chose law enforcement. Not only did they choose to give something back to the country that had given them a new home, but they chose probably the most dangerous form of law enforcement when they chose the border patrol. What did they get for their efforts? SCREWED! These two guys, in all probability, kept over one million dollars in drugs out of our schools and off our streets. Ramos, a 10 year Border Patrol veteran, had even been nominated last year for "Border Patrol Agent of the Year." Nice way to say thanks there Uncle Sam. I guess it really is true what they say. Justice is blind. Blind as a frieking bat!

John Rocker: At It Again! , September 20, 2006

SOME SIX OR SO YEARS AGO, AMERICANS who weren't baseball fans were introduced to a young man named John Rocker. The young Braves closing pitcher garnered the national spotlight after making what many considered racist remarks about foreigners in New York City who, among others things, refused to speak english. I even cringed when I heard the remarks. I remember saying, "Wow! The guy really stepped in it by saying that!" I imagined he would pay for those remarks. In some ways he did. But in other ways, it set the stage for what was to come a few years later.

Back then, the brash young athlete said what many Americans were thinking but were afraid to say. Fast forward to 2006 and John Rocker is at it again. There's a big difference this time though. A few years the wiser, more polished and refined and complete with a public relations advisor, Rocker has begun his "Speak English" 2006 media tour. Today he was on FNC, presenting his message and explaining why he feels that it is important that the message be heard.

Rocker's main assertion is that one of the reasons many immigrants (both legal and illegal) have the problems they do here in America is that they refuse to speak english. He also says that he believes that angers many Americans, especially when the government spends so much money on programs to try and teach english to immigrants who refuse to learn.

During the course of his interview, he told of learning spanish so he could function better in society while he played ball in Central and South America. Rocker said that by making that effort, he was received as someone welcome in the countries he visited and lived in despite his well known verbal gaffes earlier in his career. He went on to say the purpose of his media tour and related merchandise sales is to try to encourage civil discussion on this topic which has come to the forefront in the last few years.

After watching his appearance today on FOX News, I have to say I was suprisingly impressed. At first I thought it was going to be an anti illegal immigration message. While he did dance around the edges of that issue, his message was mostly about foreigners in America learning or at least making an effort to learn English. I think his message this time around is one that will strike a chord with a large segment of Americans if they have the opportunity to hear it. As I listened, I was reminded of the time I spent overseas in Portugal, Japan, and the Middle East and my attempts to learn the local languages. In some cases, I wasn't very successful but the effort was noticed and appreciated by those whose country I was a guest in. I, like John Rocker, see no reason why that same standard couldn't and shouldn't be applied here. It's expected of Americans overseas, so why should Americans be ridiculed and chastised for expecting the same from foreigners in America? First we have to get past the talking points and venom of the politically correct extremists posing as illegal immigration advocates. Only then will we as a nation be able to hold a civil disscussion on this issue.

Rocker's next media appearance will be on Thursday 9/21/06 live on the Mike Gallagher Show at approximately 10:35 am EST. Some stations tape delay the show though. Hell Freezes Over, May 17, 2006

I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THIS DAY.......but it finally arrived. For those of you who have been reading my blog since I started in December, you've probably figured out that I'm a pretty conservative guy. In reality, I'm more common sense than anything else. But if you have to put a label on it, then conservative would be it. There is one group though that I have never agreed with, have never liked, and have absolutely no use for. That group is the extreme left wing, whack job, anti-social, anti-everything environmentalist....or as I like to call them eco-terrorist. If you had told me ten years or even 10 days ago that there would be a topic where I would be in agreement with those left wing freaks, I most likely would have responded with something along the lines of "When Hell Freezes Over." (also by the way, the name of a great Eagles album and concert tour...but I digress) Well, here's the news flash.......HELL JUST FROZE OVER!!!!

Yesterday, while I was eating lunch, I saw a story on the Fox News Channel where one of those left wing, whack job, environmental spokesholes was talking about how illegal immigration was bad for America, the environment, AND for Mexico. Needless to say I almost choked on my roast beef and swiss on wheat. (Kat says I need to eat healthier...so I switched to wheat. lol) He then demanded that the president and congress stop their bickering on the issue and come up with a real solution to the problem and even took a swipe at the Sierra Club for not taking a stand the issue (I always suspected some of those evironmental nut cases had canabalistic tendencies. Now the secret is out).

Now, don't get me wrong. I haven't gone around the bend or anything like that. However, after the shock wore off, I found myself pleasantly suprised at the stand this fellow had taken on illegal immigration. While I don't necessarily agree with the reasoning behind his stand, it became obvious to me yesterday that part (if only a small part) of the environmental community gets it when it comes to illegal immigration. If this guy and his group can manage to comprehend what's at stake and that illegal immigration is bad for America, then why can't the pro illegal people understand. You have highly educated, very powerful people in the Catholic Church, the ACLU, the business community, and sad to say the United States Government that just don't get it. Chances are they will never get it unless we keep putting it out there for discussion and keep telling our elected officials that if they don't do the job we sent them there to do, we'll replace them the first opportunity we get.

If they ever do get it.......just be careful and keep your eyes on the skies. I 've been told that getting hit in the head by "flying pigs" can be painful.

Bonehead(s) of the Week, May 02, 2006

Well, "A Day Without an Immigrant" has come and gone. By most accounts, the protests/marches/rallies were for the most part peaceful but rather disruptive in terms of the business and education communities. But more disturbing than any economic disruption that occured as a result of Monday's activities is the emerging involvment of socialist American groups and radical latino groups such as Answer, MECha, Latino Movement USA, and LaRaza. These groups have an underlying agenda that many Americans aren't aware of....an agenda of reclamation. Reclamation/liberation of much of the western United States is their ultimate goal. American groups, including the Catholic Church and the ACLU are also (knowingly or otherwise) helping them reach their goals by supporting illegal immigration. Most of the American media are unwittingly aiding them by their lack of reporting on these groups and their support of illegal immigration. The most frustrating part is that our politicans and business leaders seem to be more interested in playing games than addressing this very important problem. The only person I've heard speak out on this today is Lou Dobbs of (of all places) CNN. If you take the time to read the Lou Dobbs article and the Mecha Profile , I think you'll find it some interesting reading. It was enough for me to decide that these radical groups are very deserving of this weeks "Bonehead(s) of the Week" award.
